This is the newest version on the market (originally designed by Peter Dokter at Sparkfun Electronics), pin locations have been updated to allow for SPI connectivity (ie ethernet shield). Of course this version allows both 3.3V or 5V logic interfaces, Vin connection, and PWM.
This motor shield controls two DC motors via Arduino Uno or Arduino Mega development boards. This new version of the Ardumoto can drive up to 2A per channel based on the L298 H-Bridge.The blue and green LEDs indicate motor direction and power level.Vin is shared with the Arduino board but power can also be provide to the Ardumoto using the screw terminals. All driver lines are protected by the 8 diodes from motor back EMF.
Channel A speed is controlled by PWM pin D3 and direction is controlled by pin D7.
Channel B speed is controlled by PWM pin D5 and direction is controlled by pin D8.
Note: There is a mistake on the silkscreen, direction and pwm pin labels were not updated from the original version. This will be fixed in the next revision.
