This is the LilyPad Simple. It has an Atmega328P with the Arduino bootloader which allows you to quickly program this board using an FTDI USB to Serial Converter. It has a JST connector for battery powered applications, as well as a Lithium Battery charger (MCP73831T) which will charge your battery when the FTDI adapter is powering it.
Each LilyPad was creatively designed to have large connecting pads to allow them to be sewn into clothing. Various input, output, power, and sensor boards are available. They're even washable! LilyPad is a wearable e-textile technology developed by Leah Buechley and cooperatively designed by Leah and SparkFun.
