...where a bunch of geeks got together to make other people's ideas come to life.
This is the Nokia Super Breakout board. Why Super? This board was designed by Rossum to work with just about any Nokia Screen! We have populated most of the board but left out the two 24 pin connections on the bottom of the board. This board will work with our Nokia 6100 , Nokia 1600 and Nokia 6101 Screens, but we have decided to include just the 6101 LCD with this breakout board.
The board has a built in boost circuit which can be controlled via PWM for different screens, and a current sense pin for fine adjustment. To see the complete design process of this board, checkout Rossum's blog here. You can also download his code, but we recommend ours since it is a lot more user friendly.
Note: The Nokia 6101 is powered by 3.3V, and the SPI bus is also meant to be operate at 3.3V, therefore you do not want to use a regular 5V Arduino Uno with this board. The 5V SPI bus will wash-out the screen and possibly cause damage to the screen. Always use level shifting, or a 3.3V Arduino board with this board.
We have added support for this screen in the attached NokiaLCD Library. The Library has a demo examples using this screen to display a digital clock.
