This is an NFC shield based on the popular PN532 chip-set. The chip can read and write to any compatible 13.56MHz NFC tag. This is a great technology to use for access or inventory control. The shield supports both I2C and SPI protocols. We have included two NFC cards and one straight header, which is everything you will need to get started with this great board.
We recommend using this shield: Adafruit's PN532 NFC Library to read and write tags. Although the chip-set supports many features, Adafruit's library only supports reading and writing tags. Features such as communicating with phones and 'acting' like a NFC tag have to be added.
