This is the WS2812 RGB LED which has a built in controller that is already mounted and ready to go! This amazing LED is controlled by only one wire and is daisy chainable! The LED comes in a tiny 5050 SMD package and measures 5x5 mm. The chip inside uses a constant current control over all three colors to maintain consistent colors even if the voltage varies.

Description:
This is the WS2812 RGB LED which has a built-in controller that is already mounted and ready to go! This amazing LED is controlled by only one wire and is daisy chainable! The LED comes in a tiny 5050 SMD package and measures 5x5 mm. The chip inside uses a constant current control over all three colors to maintain consistent colors even if the voltage varies.

 

This board uses a time sensitive one wire protocol which requires a real-time microcontroller such as an Arduino (AVR), PIC, or Arm. It cannot be controlled using a Linux based computer such as the Raspberry Pi.
