...where a bunch of geeks got together to make other people's ideas come to life.
The T-Shifter board is a Raspberry Pi I/O breakout board with built-in bi-directional level shifters (TXB0108). The board acts as a buffer/level shifter and is a convenient way to prototype on a breadboard with the Raspberry Pi.
The TXB0108 auto detects the direction of the I/O pin you are trying to use. This auto detect feature is great but also means that the TXB0108 has weak output drivers so do not try to drive LEDs with the output pins. The TXB also does not work well for I2C so we built in an extra I2C specific level shifter to handle I2C communication.
The onboard switch allows you to set the level shifting to 3.3V or 5V. We recommend you set the switch before applying power to the board. This means you can quickly and easily interface the Raspberry Pi with all your TTL/CMOS level components and microcontrollers.
