...where a bunch of geeks got together to make other people's ideas come to life.
This is a great, inexpensive AVR programmer based on Dick Steefland's USBtiny and Limor Fried's USBtinyISP. This board works directly with AVRdude to program Atmel AVR processors. We have used it with WinAVR and Programmers Notepad on a PC and have had no problems with it.
To set it up with PN simply set AVRdude_programmer = USBtiny in the makefile. It can also be used directly with the Arduino IDE, allowing users to burn bootloaders on an AVR. The video shows how to program an Arduino Bootloaders using this programmer and an Arduino UNO Board.
This board can also power you target device (up to 500mA), although we only recommend using 5V board. This makes it easy to program your target without having to have an additional power supply. Additionally the output is buffered using a Quad Buffer IC protecting the programmer from misuse.
